Om Wall Hang - Timber 20cm x 20cm

Hindu texts as a sacred exclamation to be uttered at the beginning and end of a reading of the Vedas or previously to any prayer or mantra. In hinduism it means "oneness with the supreme" or "absolute"

The Om symbol and sound are important to a Yogi. In Sanskrit the long lower curve represents the dream state, the upper curve stands for the waking state and the curve issuing from the centre symbolizes deep, dreamless sleep. The crescent shape stands for "maya", the veil of illusion and the dot for the transcendental state.

When meditating on this symbol or creating the sound in meditation it is believed to be when the individual spirit in man passes through the veil and rests in the transcendental he is liberated from the three states and their qualities.
