Tingsha cymbal - small

Traditionally Tingsha bells are used as a religious ritual tool in Tibetan Buddhism. The tibetan tingsha is quite different from other culture's cymbals. Two cymbals are joined by a leather strap or chain.
Tingsha bells are also used as instruments in meditation, healing through sound and music and often used in group meditation practices as they are excellent in bringing group focus together. A high pitched tone can be created by striking two cymbals together, as they are quite thick their ringing tone is long which helps draw the mind into focussing on the present. The small cymbals make a higher/finer pitch sound and the large emit a deeper/louder resonance.
Shamanist traditions use Tingsha bells help to clear space and therefore balance the auric fields. They are also used by yogis and yoginis in meditation practice.
